Father and son fishing trip, not a thing of the past. Rather, I see it being passed down from generation to generation. My husband would take our son on little fishing trips. Now I see our son taking his son on fishing trips. My grandson says “Dad, someday I’m gonna take my little boy on fishing trips, just like you do”. They usually ended up throwing most of them back in though because they don’t like killing them, they just like catching them. They have caught sunfish, trout, bass and salmon, while making memories that will last them a lifetime. The Finger Lakes in New York are wonderful for fishing. Lake Ontario in New York is where they would catch some of our nice big salmon. Those salmon range anywhere from 15 to 40 pounds. They were amazing. Those we did keep, being salmon lovers.

My husband also took our daughter fishing on one occasion. She was 6 years old. The fish bit the hook and it scared her half to death, so she thru the fishing pole right in the lake and went screaming down the dock they were on. Needless to say she never asked to go again. She is definitely not a fisherman.

My husband and son went fishing off the pier at the Outer Banks in North Carolina about 10 years ago, their pier is open for fishing 24 hours a day and is lit at night for those fisherman who enjoy fishing at night. Each pier has its own pier house where you can purchase bait, rent fishing equipment and if you call the pier in advance the employees can tell you what particular fish are biting that day.

I believe that some people just plain have fishing in their blood. You either love it or you don’t.
